Call for SGS Young Investigator Award proposals
The promotion of young sport scientists in Switzerland is an important goal of the Swiss Society of Sport Science (SGS). For this purpose, a Young Investigator Award will be presented at the 11th SGS annual meeting.
To apply for the Young Investigator Award an extended abstract of 1500 words must be submitted (including references). Please use the abstract template (link).
The first author
- may not have completed the doctorate at the time of the meeting
- should not have been a winner of the SGS Young Investigator Award final at a previous meeting (1st to 3rd place)
- must be active for a Swiss institution or holds Swiss citizenship
From the applications received, five candidates will be selected by a jury, which covers social and natural sciences. These candidates get the opportunity to give an oral presentation (10 minutes presentation and 10 minutes discussion on Thursday, February 13, 2019). The presentation and slides language is exclusively English.
The award jury, which is appointed by the SGS board, will assess the abstracts and oral presentations. The jury will evaluate the relevance of the research to the field of movement and sports, in addition to the scientific quality of the work and the quality of the presentation.
Please note that applicants not selected to participate in the final will undergo the normal abstract review process, and may be selected for a mini-oral or oral presentation during a regular session (no additional abstract needs to be submitted).
Cash prizes will be awarded:
1st place: 750CHF
2nd place: 500CHF
3rd place: 250CHF
